Whether you mark the end of the week with prayer or football, there is no way to carbo-load for the big rest than with challah from Galit Grutman. Raised in Israel and now a column of her neighborhood and the Greater Boston (Jewish) community (both beneficiaries of her generosity and support), Grutman brings her Sabra savvy and baking brains (as well as a lot of heart) to every item. But always, she puts extra care into her weekly doughy gifts. Available with seeds or without, each challah can be picked up warm and fresh from the oven, but is also great for next-day treats like challah French toast or game time sandwiches. And if you come too late and they are sold out, grab a homemade babka, some hand-formed halvah and her signature coffee slushy and all will be well!
