Nothing makes me happier than a flaky fruit tart. Here, plump blueberries and raspberries sit nestled in a simple custard held together with a golden crust. One bite and you’ll swear you’ve just tasted summer. The fact that everything at Lilac Pâtisserie is gluten-free only ups the ante. I’m not a chocolate girl, so any dessert that’s light enough to satisfy my sweet tooth, but not so heavy that it weighs me down, is a winner. Long story short: I ate the whole thing. The fact that it’s also available with strawberries, blackberries or kiwis makes this the first place I want to go the second I land in Santa Barbara.
