Aw, shucks, I love oysters. Just hearing the word makes me crave them. And just when I thought I’d tasted all the delights to be found – from raw to BBQ – I discovered Shigoku Oysters at Oyogusushi, a tiny hole-in the wall down the hill from my house. The oysters are topped with yuzu sauce (think grapefruit meets lime), but it tastes a bit more complex. Perhaps it was the popping of the tiny tobiko (which for those not in the know, is "flying fish roe"). Say what you will, I’m a sucker for that consistency and flavor and I'm counting down the days until I next roll down the hill. Find your way to this neighborhood joint, kick back a cold sake, and your tastebuds will be singing. Arigato.
