Lam Zhou Handmade Noodle and Dumplings
144 East Broadway, New York, NY 10002
Rude Chinese ladies serving. Neck snapping sounds from noodles being slammed on a counter. Elbows in my ribs from nearby slurping customers. Yes, it's wonderful here at this slice of a restaurant somewhere below east Canal street. No kidding. You don't need niceties when it comes to dumpling perfection. And those ladies aren't so mean, just interrupted. Because little more then a few feet a way they are forming the dumplings by hand (of course). Paper thin dough with a tiny crunch filled with minced pork and thickly cut chives. Serving of eight for $3. Are you kidding me? Like the ladies who serve, it's no joke.
